BlackBerry Torch 9860 on T-Mobile?
According to a report on tmonews.com, the new Blackberry 9860 Torch might well be coming to the T-Mobile wireless network. At least that is what is being claimed based on a photo from the T-Mobile legacy system showing the Blackberry model number on the screen.
Still this might be a far-fetched claim as AT&T is supposed to have a one year exclusivity deal with RIM for the 9860 Torch. For many, this was not a big concern as the proposed merger between AT&T and T-Mobile was supposed to bring both carriers together, but since last weeks announcement that the Department of Justice had filed a motion to block the merger, it is now more likely that both companies will remain as separate entities and continue to be fierce competitors.
The 9860 Torch is Blackberry’s latest entry into the battle of the touchscreen smartphones. It comes loaded with Research In Motions OS7 firmware and a much faster processor. The 9860 has no physical keyboard and with a 3.7 inch screen is in direct competition with Apples’ iPhone and a strew of other Android devices from HTC, Samsung and Motorola, so it is likely to be a good seller for any wireless carrier that get it first.
